One Love - One Heart - Let's Get Together & Feel. Alright

I was holding Maci before lunch and playing Bob Marley's One Love on the iPod as she was sleeping.  She also listened to a little bit of P!nk and Sugarland.

She's had a little bit of of a set back with formula but they think it's because she was constipated.  She had a poopie diaper literally immediately after the nurse came in and said they had ordered a suppository.  Maybe these babies are a lot more in tune than we give them credit for????  Since she had a dirty diaper, she gets to start formula again.  If she wakes up enough, we can try the bottle.  Otherwise she gets it through her nasal (NG) tube.

Rebecca is with us at the hospital today.  It's not the first time she's seen Maci but she held her for the first time today.  It was sweet.

Maci's diapers have been a good weight....since her birth, the docs were wanting a higher urine output.  She started at an average of .5 per 24 hours and is now up to over 3 per 24 hours.  :)

Her BUN and Creatinine both went down from yesterday which is good to us.  In the overall big picture of things, the Nephrologist (kidney doc) wasn't that impressed with a small change but Rick and I were.  We will take a small decrease anytime.  The plan is still to start dialysis tomorrow or Tuesday.

So far, our stay here at LeBonheur has been great. I have been very happy with the docs, nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, nutritionist, pharmacists, surgeons, etc, etc, etc. It's not a "one stop shop" here and they have a seperate specialist to treat each individual need but we have gotten used to it now. Maci seems to be happy too. :)
Again, we thank everyone for their prayers and ask that they continue!  Rick and I appreciate SO MUCH, more than words can express, the love, concern and prayers people are showing and sharing.  Our Maci Moo is a very popular and loved little girl and we are very thankful.

Now, I am gonna watch my baby sleep.  It's amazing how nice it is to watch your baby sleep when that's basically all you can do.......

  1. I'm with y'all, Jima...a small change in the right direction is still a change for the better. Maci Moo, you keep up the good work sweetie! That Nephrologist doesn't recognize yet just how AMAZING you really are. I know you're gonna show him when you're good & ready. He'll come to know that beauty, brains & heart CAN come in a package as small as you!!! I love you sweet Angel & I hope to see you very soon!

  2. Great blog, Jima, I am so proud of you for being such a good mommy to precious little Maci and it's nice to know that she seems happier now. I would be happy with that decrease too, it's a good start to trend with. I would love to visit and see you and the little cherub.
