Nephrology came by earlier and they are going to do two things.
Maci is still draining but not like she should. She is still on the 4.25% which should pull off the most fluid. She cannot stay on this concentration long term.
They are going to put TPA in with the dialysate to eliminate any catheter blockage caused by fibrin. Fibrin is involved with the clotting of blood and fibrin particles can block the catheter preventing proper drainage. Maci has heparin in her dialysate to help prevent clotting but Dr. Eison wants to add the TPA.
Tomorrow Maci will also go to surgery to have a dye injected to test the catheter for any construction, kinks, twisting....anything that could be impeding proper drainage. Dr. Eison, the Nephrologist will be accompanying the surgeon in surgery so I am assuming we will know tomorrow what they find....or don't find.
We are hoping and praying for a problem that is easily resolved!!!!
We do not know when they will take her to surgery tomorrow. Please keep Maci in your prayers!
