In the last 2-3 weeks I have noticed that Maci IS changing. It's almost like she has said HEY, I think I wanna start doing stuff.
She will now sit for longer periods propped on her hands.
She is cutting 2 molars (jaw teeth).
*Update 7/6/13 - she is now cutting a THIRD molar!*
She jabbers almost NON STOP.
She is also repeating more often. Her OT said "Hi Maci" and she said hi back. Today she said hi to her PT. She will also say nooooooooooo. She pretty much only says it when SHE wants to.
She is using her hands more, grabbing purposefully and holding things longer. She will hold her sippie cup but hasn't quite realized that she has to lift it to drink from it.
She is happy when she wakes up and is happy all day. She laughs a lot more and smiles a lot more. Almost everything is funny. I cough....she laughs. I sneeze.....she laughs. Bark like a dog.....she laughs. Shake a cup with ice in it.....she laughs. I laugh a lot more because she cracks me up. Something will scare her and she will jump....then laugh. It's almost like she enjoys being startled. It's hilarious.
She also is communicating in her own way more frequently. She lets you know if she's thirsty. She smacks if she wants a bite of something. If she doesn't like or want a particular food, she makes a face and lets it fall out of her mouth or slowly spits it out (thankfully not spitting food all over the place).
For the most part she is doing awesome and cooperating during all of her therapies.
We went to monthly dialysis clinic yesterday. All is well, no changes. They measured her and she is 79.1 cm long. The transplant doc said he wanted her to be 75-80 cms. WE ARE SO CLOSE and I am SO glad she is growing. It will likely still be October before they review her case again. :(
She makes me so proud. She was fun to hang out with all along but it's even more fun to watch her now.
Campaign Get The Kid A Kidney is moving right along......keep the prayers going up....they are working.

Almost always smiling.
Maci and her Dietician, Caroline.
Caroline is also an Alabama fan so to honor her, Maci wore her Bama shirt.
Caroline took a job at another hospital and this was our last clinic visit with her.
We LOVE her, will miss her and we wish her the best at her new job.
She had an awesome session in physical therapy today!
