It's Over!

Maci's birthday is over.  She is ONE!  Boo hoo hoo.  I was an emotional wreck the day of her party.  I had to later just laugh at myself.  It was an emotional day for me and I was overwhelmed by the turn out for her birthday party (of more than 50 people).  Maci is one loved little girl and I am proud to be her mother.  I am thankful for all of those who shared her special day when we celebrated her birthday.  I adore you all!  Thank you.

She got soooooo many books.  I saw a pin on Pinterest last year of an idea that I wanted to do this year.  Beginnng December 1 I plan to read one book a day to Maci.  The pin advised wrapping 25 books, placing them under a small tree in your child's room and letting them open one book each night for you to read to them.  We are going to skip the wrapping part since Maci doesn't care.  :)
She received some other cool gifts as well and loves them all.

Maci's weight is 21.692 lbs.  We go to dialysis clinic in just a bit over 3 weeks and I am sure she will be at 22 lbs then!  0.308 lbs to go and I think in 3 weeks that's doable.  After her appointment next month, her doctor should start the transplant process by writing a letter to let the transplant team know they have a candidate.  I am getting excited but will be truly excited once I hear Dr. Hastings say that she is gonna get that letter sent.

It was SO nice to have Maci home on Thanksgiving this year.  I somewhat consider this her first REAL Thanksgiving and we were surrounded by people that love her.  I very much enjoyed sharing her with my family on Turkey Day.  My grandmother is still recopperating from breaking both elbows but we barely got in the door at her house before she was reaching for her.  She can't lift much weight so I had to let her sit down and hand Maci to her because Maci is a little cow!  I am hoping next year Maci is gobbling up Thanksgiving dinner herself!  I am looking forward to Christmas and cooking and making even more family memories with my lil Moo.

I will try to update with recent news after her next clinic appointment.  We did see the Opthamologist earlier this month and Dr. Hoehn said that she DID see improvement with Maci's focus.  We go back in 6 months.  Her saying she sees improvement was music to my ears!!!!  It made me very, very happy and aleviated one of the many worries.....for now.

You think they love her?  LOL

A birthday gift (it's a blanket) from a dear friend of mine that she made for Maci.
I absolutely loved this!
