I've mentioned before that I was part of an online support group consisting of Moms of children with kidney issues. They have been lifesavers to me and I have actually developed friendships with a few and grown to love their kids. If I could, I would hop on a plane to visit them (after their snow is gone).
Another little boy whom I have began following closely and whom I adore, is Evan. He and his family live in Tampa, FL.
Evan, like Maci, has just started his process to transplant. His family went for their transplant education meeting only two days after Rick and I went to ours. The process in Tampa has been a bit different from how things are done here in Memphis and they are currently testing for donors for Evan.
Evan needs a kidney donor. If you are in the Tampa, FL area and have an interest in being screened as a potential donor for Evan, are under age 50, in good health and have type O blood, you can contact Jenni at LifeLink at (813) 844-5669. The initial process is anonymous. The family is not informed of anyone who shows interest or who is tested unless they choose to advise the family themselves. Only if you are a match and choose to donate to Evan would your identity need to be shared with the family.
If you are not eligible as a potential donor, please keep the Ranieri family (Mom Melissa, Dad Paul and Evan's older sister, Avery) in your prayers for their road to transplant to continue to go well and pray that a donor WILL be found for Evan, soon. You can follow Evan on facebook by "LIKING" his page, Evan's ORGANizers: www.facebook.com/evansorganizers

Thank you all SO very much for continuing to follow and pray for Maci and for allowing me to share the stories of other families and asking for prayer for them as well. Prayer is powerful. So many may feel as if they are limited to what they can do to help. A prayer can take a small amount of time, it's free and it is mighty and means so much to those who you are praying for. Help share our stories, help advocate for organ donation, become an organ and tissue donor yourself. There's much you can do that costs nothing to you but can mean LIFE for someone else. Again, thank you all!!!
Much love from my family!
