We Met With The Transplant Surgeon Today...

Today's visit with the surgeon was good and a tad disappointing.  He (Dr. Eason, who happens to be the Director of the Transplant Center) would like Maci to be bigger, length wise. He didn't say how big.  The concern is that a big kidney is going in her "little" abdomen.  The smaller amount of space the more of a risk there is of decreasing circulation of veins and arteries to the new kidney if it's in a cramped space.
He said growth hormones would be a good step forward and Maci sees that doc (Endocrinologist) next Tuesday. So.........I guess we will see how things go.  He also has to talk to Maci's Nephrologist regarding "benefit" of transplant but from my understanding it's a formality.
On a positive note, he did say we can go ahead and start with donor testing!  Rick will be tested first and I called the pre-transplant, living donor nurse and left her a message before I even made it down the second hallway of the hospital after leaving the transplant clinic!

Everything happens on God's time....not mine, not mine, not mine.  No matter how much I want this transplant to happen RIGHT NOW, I am not in charge.  So, I will be patient.
Isaiah 40:31:  But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Maci today on the way to see the surgeon.
Someone posted this today and it is perfect.
