Transplant Waiting List Time

In April of 2013, Maci was listed on the transplant list as inactive in Memphis and was made active in October 2013.  She was removed from the list when she received a kidney in December 2013.
When she had to have her newly transplanted kidney removed less than 3 weeks later, she was put back on the transplant list as inactive while she healed and to be able to get her time back since initially being put on the list in April 2013.  Although Memphis decided not to transplant her again, Maci has remained listed as inactive in Memphis.  I had no idea she was still listed here until the Transplant Coordinator at Le Bonheur called yesterday and told me that her time can be transferred to Children's of AL.  I was thrilled.  This gives Maci 1 year and 9 months on the waiting list.  We still have the issue of getting a good match but it never hurts to be "higher up on the list".
