2016 was a pretty uneventful year for Maci. She was
hospitialized once at the beginning of the year for a few days but the rest of
the year she was great. I think she only had one, lasting cold. She
is also still OFF of dialysis. It was a good year.
She lost her top two front teeth and started getting her bottom two teeth. She is still listed for transplant with Childrens of Alabama and we have biannual visits to Birmingham and she still has her regular follow ups with Le Bonheur. :)

Maci still loves her music. She listens to Bruno Mars
(Uptown Funk), Carrie Underwood & Miranda Lambert (Something Bad's About To
Happen) and Thomas Rhett (Vacation) the most.
Dinosaurs
The TV show from the 90's, The Dinosaurs had a baby dino named Sinclair. Maci loves Sinclair's voice. She has a 10 minute YouTube video that she fell in love with and I had to replay it every 10 minutes when it stopped. Thankfully, her brother who is a music engineering major converted it to a sound file and looped it to where it plays for 50 minutes. I was able to find an app that would play it and LOOP it. She literally listens to it allllllllllllllllll day. She will let me know when she's ready for a change and she will listen to her 3 favorite songs and after a while she is ready to change back to the dinosaurs. She will even mimic many of the sounds from it!
Rumble strips
She loves when I drive over the rumble strip on the side of the road. It gets her so tickled that she snorts and sometimes laughs so hard that she has to cach her breath. It's hilarious.
Loud trucks
If she hears a truck with glass packs, or a loud truck take off, she laughs. Her giggle box gets flipped upside down and she has THE sweetest laugh.
Gun shots
We live in the country and during hunting season it is common to hear gun fire. I would normally not even notice but she will laugh. I have a little redneck girl.
Allstate commercial
The Allstate spa commercial, when the guy is getting his chest waxed and he says "guaranteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed", the guaranteed part makes Maci cackle every. single. time. EVERY time.

Law & Order
The "dunt dunt" you heat on Law & Order makes her laugh hysterically. You can almost find an episode on any time of the day. There have been multiple times that she has been drifting off to sleep at night or for a rare nap, eyes are closed and she will hear the noise and smile or make a slight giggle noise.

Food
Some of her favorite things to eat are sweet potatoes, squash, green peas, mashed potatoes, bananas, watermelon, cotton candy, frozen greek yogurt (vanilla), Dum Dum suckers, black eyed peas and turnip greens. (My country girl with a sweet tooth lol.)

DISLIKES:
Zippers
I am not sure why she dislikes the sound of a zipper. For a short time she acted like it didn't bother her and if I unzipped my wallet she may even laugh. However, the majority of the time the sound sends her into a panic or a meltdown. This made wearing warm, footie pajamas a challenge!
The Dentist
Having her teeth scraped would send her into a tizzy. Her Daddy always had to go with us so he could hold her. Maci is freakishly strong and always has been. There are times when I can barely hold her arm down for lab work so to hold her still for 20 minutes would be a chore for me.
I will say she had a visit on January 4th of this year, 2017, and she was a completely different child. She stressed out once but not even over her teeth and it was brief and did't last long at all.
Meat
Maci is still primarily tube fed but I still give her real food. She WILL eat fish but any other meat, no matter how it's cooked or the texture, she will spit it out. She remains a self made vegetarian.
