This Thursday (7/24) will mark 2 weeks since Maci's information was sent to the two other hospitals to see if they would evaluate her for possible transplant. I haven't been stressing over not hearing anything yet as I know that it took a while for her information to be reviewed here for potential transplant so I expected it would take a while to hear from the other hospitals.
If I could ask for prayers for two kidney kiddos.
Lucas received a kidney from his Mom on July 11th. He is out of ICU but still in the hospital. Pray for his new kidney to wake up, start functioning fully and making urine. Hospital life is tough and Lucas's Mom is still recovering from the surgery herself. Pray that things progress and they are able to go home soon.
Levi is in the hospital with a urinary tract infection. The doctor's told his parents that once he is well from the UTI that he will have surgery to get his dialysis catheter. He has been "healthy" enough until now to avoid dialysis. He and Maci are the same age, born the same month and year, only a few days apart. Levi will receive the same type of dialysis that Maci has at home. Levi has a new sister who is only 6 weeks old so his parents will be tackling life with Levi on dialysis while having an infant. I wish this could have been postponed for longer as we all know that dialysis stinks and I have a love/hate relationship with dialysis. Pray for a smooth transition for Levi and his Mom and Dad. Pray for weight gain for Levi so he reaches the weight requirement for transplant!
As always, thank you for your continued prayers and support of Moo!
